About Chris – The Story

Chris Levingston an American Singer was born on December 4, 1987 in Detroit, Michigan. As a young child Chris was abandoned by his mom, this was extremely painful to deal with; he channeled all of the pain and grief into music and religion. Giving him the strength to hide the pain and bring my emotion to the stage. Just to bring light to everyone's heart through his voice. His misfortune elicited the release of his first album entitled “My Life” which has generated a half a million downloads. The album’s title track brings the pain of his abandonment to the forefront. Chris has never expected anything to be given to him, but instead that in this world, especially in the music business you can’t expect anyone to have your back. You have to make things happen for yourself and chase your dreams. Chris always had a dream of someday becoming a successful, professional singer/songwriter. He first started singing at the age of five in a church choir, and worked tirelessly throughout the years and gained a great deal of experience through singing and songwriting locally in Detroit. Chris became extremely confident that he will be an asset to the music industry through my unique vocal and writing styles. Chris wants to take music back to a place of originality, relevance and positive influence. He is considered a great storyteller with the ability to deliver so many messages through simply telling a story. Chris often reflex the days of Motown when music was all about love and emotions and they connected with the audience, the audience could walk away from a song or performance feeling more connected and in tuned with the artists. Chris has received many accolades for his lead role in the musical play “Abo-the Young African King” at Southfield High School. He also wrote and directed high school plays during his days in high school years. He graduated at the head of his class and moved on to majoring in Music in college. Chris set his sights on New York City to pursue his dreams on a more professional level, since many unsigned artists have been discovered in New York City. Chris signed up for Job Corps of Edison, New Jersey and was introduced to the Big Apple, which is where he resided for two years. Chris has performed at Hart Plaza, Casinos, Proms, Funerals, and also local radio/television stations across Detroit. Chris has had the opportunity to audition for “Making the Band 4”, “American Idol”, and “Showtime at the Apollo”. In 2013 auditioned in the “This Is It” talent search for producer Tito Jackson and other artists. He has made appearances on the highly end internet radio station Nitelineradio.com, The Michaela show, UEG Radio, The Diamante Show with host Artie Rodriguez , and also was interviewed on WGTB’s hit radio show “Lower Class” on February 22nd. Chris is currently working on his follow up project which is not yet titled.
